High-mast and custom pole height enquiry checklist

(Information)

High-mast and custom pole height enquiry checklist

For a high-mast or custom-height lighting enquiry, share the site layout, requested mounting heights and available structural assumptions. Ask the supplier to review the specific scope and confirm any proposed goods, configuration and limits in writing; a height alone cannot establish suitability.

State the area and mounting heights first

Send the project location, site plan, area dimensions, intended use and the height requested for each mounting position. Distinguish existing poles from proposed poles and identify access, clearance and nearby buildings. Mark estimates and unknowns clearly. A height request is an enquiry input, not confirmation that a particular pole or lighting arrangement is available or suitable.

Share wind, soil and foundation assumptions

Provide wind information, soil or geotechnical notes, foundation drawings and any locally applicable design criteria that your project team has established. Do not guess structural values to complete a form. Ask what additional information is needed for a review, and have a qualified local engineer confirm structural design, foundation suitability and compliance before procurement or construction.

Match flood or street optics to the use case

For a road, explain lanes, junctions, pedestrian areas and pole spacing; for an open yard, describe work zones, boundaries and operating activity. Ask the reviewer whether street-lighting or floodlighting optics are being considered and why. The street lighting series and floodlighting series describe broad contexts; neither substitutes for a site-specific design review.

Ask what the goods package includes

List separately the goods you want considered, such as poles, brackets, luminaires or related accessories, and state what you expect others to provide. Ask the supplier to itemize the proposed goods, quantities, interfaces and exclusions in the written quotation. This is a goods enquiry: do not assume the supplier will install poles or luminaires, prepare foundations, or take responsibility for site engineering.

Confirm power class and aiming before comparing quotes

Ask which power information applies to the complete proposed luminaire and which refers to another component, then provide the mounting height, spacing, aiming intent and operating context. Request matching photometric evidence for the exact proposal and ask whether it is available for review; availability is not assumed. Compare technical responses using the relevant checklist and product-family context. Confirm configuration and commercial details in the written quotation.
